Hello all,
Last weeks letter was rather long, so don't worry, this one will be short and simple!
It has been a week of great faith and miracles.
My Dad sent me a list of the recent messages he has sent to the youth. There was one that was just perfect for us this week:
"Once all villagers decided to pray for rain, on the day of prayer all the people gathered but only one small boy came with an umbrella. That's Faith!"

And that is exactly what we do. When we talk about investigators we say "they will..." Come to church or be baptized. We never say "we hope, or maybe they might...". This shows God that we have faith that everyone we teach will accept our invitations to come to church, read The Book of Mormon, pray, and be baptized.
We also use "words of faith" in lessons like "how did you feel as you were reading The Book of Mormon"? We trust that they have read and invite the Lord to work miracles. We do our best to always act in faith that those we talk with will have kept their commitments.

As a companionship we have the goal to find 2 new investigators a day. We were so blessed last month to find 1 each day and were so happy to be busy in missionary work all the time. As we have prayed and fasted we have used all our faith to find new people to teach the Lord has blessed us immensely. People have been placed in our pan and walked right into our hands.

So here's the real miracle...
Just this week we found 19 new investigators... Really 19...Which is quite a few more than 2 a day.
I would love to share some experiences from this week of faith...

One day we went to the main office of our apartment complex to have a lesson. They have a cool comfy business table and room that we have lessons at occasionally. As we tried to go in, the door was locked and a woman came and told us that it was locked for another hour or so. We were a little discouraged but we decided to have our lesson in the Gym the next room over... Ha ha ha it was a great lesson about the 10 commandments with a young boy who we put on date to be baptized. As we taught him a young girl came in and began dancing in the racquetball court area. She danced to one song and then listened to the entire rest of our lesson and the prayer. After our lesson my companion got up to leave and I just opened the door and said "Hi, what's your name?" And told her what missionaries do and asked if she wanted us to teach her. She said yes and we will be coming by to see her on Wednesday. ***MIRACLE***

Another time we were super late to a lesson and had found no investigators that day. We were stressed and had nothing to show for all of our efforts that day. When we walked into the lesson they had a friend and their son staying with them. Following the lesson, both the friend and the son wanted to join us for our next lesson which makes them both our 2 new investigators for that day  ***MIRACLE***

On Tuesday we began this 2 investigator goal and we both wondered if we could really do it. We prayed that morning that we could have faith...and just before the prayer we said "can we really do this?" And that day alone we found 8 new investigators ***MIRACLE***

All of these wonderful experiences are blessings from God but only come if we are working, consecrating all we have to the Lord and using our faith. 2 Corinthians 9:6 says"But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully" that means that if you want a little miracle and a few blessings then just work a little... But if you want to see great miracles and immense blessings, give everything and hold nothing back, and the Lord will give you according to your labors.

Here are some scriptures about faith... Read them... Mark them... Use your faith to work miracles- miracles happen even to missionaries like Sister Child's and I and they WILL happen to you. That's a promise... Not from me but from our Heavenly Father.
Matthew 21:21
21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
James 1:6
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
1 Nephi 4:3
3 Now behold ye know that this is true; and ye also know that an angel hath spoken unto you; wherefore can ye doubt? Let us go up; the Lord is able to deliver us, even as our fathers, and to destroy Laban, even as the Egyptians.
Matthew 17:20
20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Here are some fun photos from this week!

Me painting my toenails... Sister child's has never painted her
toenails so she said... "Wow you're such a girl... I have to take a
picture of you"

Breakfast with Sister Child's

A fun activities day party photo booth with some other sisters from the mission.

Here is a Pokemon card I found on the ground. It is so cute and has a
rainbow and I see it as a tender mercy.

  1. We love reading her letters! She is getting a really nice glowing Arizona tan! We would love to "run into" her sometime. Find out when her next temple trip is, and we may just randomly also be there!! Wink wink
